The new £50M in L’Derry became fully operational in May 2017. Developed as a cross-border treatment centre to allow cancer patients from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland access treatment without lengthy journeys to Belfast, Galway or Dublin.
Around the new treatment centre was a new landscape scheme that integrated with the existing mature setting while providing new paths and areas to create a relaxing environment. AluExcel proved to be the perfect edge restraint providing an edge that worked equally well with granite paving, exposed aggregate concrete and self binding gravel to produce a seamless transition between these areas.
