The new £50M radiotherapy unit at Altnagelvin Hospital in L’Derry became fully operational in
May 2017. Developed as a cross border treatment centre to allow cancer patients from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland access treatment without lengthy journeys to Belfast, Galway or Dublin .
Around the new treatment centre was a new landscape scheme that integrated with the existing mature setting while providing new paths and areas to create a relaxing environment.
AluExcel proved to be the perfect edge restraint providing an edge that worked equally well with granite paving, exposed aggregate concrete and self binding gravel to produce a seamless transition between these areas..
